Capturing the Spirit of WamFest: Health and Wellbeing Event in Suffolk
By an event photographer and videographer in Suffolk
I had the privilege of capturing the vibrant and inspiring WamFest's Health and Wellbeing Event held at The Two Sisters Art Center in Trimley St Mary, Felixstowe, Suffolk. WamFest is an incredible festival dedicated to championing women in the arts, music and more, and this event was no exception, offering a day full of creativity, relaxation, and empowerment.
I spent a beautiful Sunday documenting this unique event, where participants engaged in various workshops and activities designed to uplift and in
spire. As an event photographer and videographer passionate about capturing meaningful moments, this was a delightful and wholesome event to be commissioned for.
A Day of Inspiration: Workshops and Wellness
The day kicked off with a creative writing workshop led by Mai Black, where participants had the opportunity to explore their creativity, learn techniques and dive into the world of written expression. The workshop set the tone for the day, promoting both personal reflection and the power of self-expression through words.
Next, the atmosphere shifted to relaxation as Lindsey Franklin led a soothing Gong Bath. This calming experience combined gentle body movements and stretching, followed by the meditative sounds and vibrations of the gong and ending with a singing bowl (a personal favourite).
It was an extraordinary moment to capture, as the peaceful energy filled the room, helping everyone embrace a sense of restorative well-being and calm.
After the Gong Bath, the day picked up pace with a singing workshop led by Chandra Grover. Participants embraced their vocal talents in a joyful and uplifting session, releasing their voices and letting go of any stress.
Our next event featured a hands-on stonemasonry workshop led by Sue Aperghis. They showcased their incredible artistry and craftsmanship and guided participants through the process.
This workshop offered a unique opportunity for attendees to experience the art of stonemasonry, with Sue offering their expert guidance every step of the way.
To end the day on an empowering note, Kae Laker's burlesque class brought a burst of energy, as participants took part in a playful and empowering performance class, celebrating body positivity and confidence.
It was evidence everyone enjoyed this through their laughter and movement. It was the perfect way to end the day.
Capturing the Event: Photography and Videography in Action
Throughout the day, I had the task to document the diverse activities, from the peaceful Gong Bath to the lively burlesque class, capturing the energy and essence of each moment.
My goal was to reflect the range of experiences participants had, offering a glimpse into the calming, creative, and empowering atmosphere of the event.
As an event photographer and videographer, I aim to capture the true spirit of each event, ensuring that the images and video reflect both the atmosphere and the emotions experienced throughout the day.
If you're planning your own event and want to make sure the key and inspirational moments are captured with care, feel free to get in touch. I'd love to discuss how I can help bring your event to life through stunning photography and videography.
