Documenting Lily Hammond of Uwu Studio Private View at Ipswich Mansion
By an event photographer working across Suffolk, Norfolk, London and beyond.
I had the privilege of photographing the private view for Lily Hammond, owner of Uwu Studio,
and the leading local artist showcased in the Colour, Shape, Pattern exhibition taking place at Ipswich Mansions art gallery.

This exhibition is runing until February 2026, it features international icons including Henri Metisse, David Hockney, Bridget Riley,
John Constable and more. Lily Hammond's three large scale, hand painted originals take centre stage as the biggest pieces in the show,
and spesifically commissioned for this exhibition. They were created on site in the gallery. The pieces are called Weaver Birds, from Lagos to Ipswich.

Before the event started we captured some promotional branding images, which included images of the art work and
portraits of Lily infront of her work. You can see her wearing some incredible clothes from Nigeria.

"I’m honoured to be exhibiting in Ipswich alongside some of the world’s most celebrated artists and colourists, including masters like Bridget Riley,
David Hockney, and the late Victor Pasmore. As well as outstanding local and contemporary talent. This coming together of global icons and homegrown
creatives celebrates the rich, vibrant dialogue between past and present, international influence and local identity." - Lily Hammond
After a series of speeches the doors opened. Inside the atmosphere was electric. The lighting was carefully designed and curated.
The overhead lights were dimmed and the neon pink, blue, purple and green back lights made Lily's pieces stand out and show off their vibrancy.

My focus was on documenting not only the artwork itself but also the guests
interactions, ambience, and storytelling moments that defined the night.

Kind words from Lily Hammond
"Kezia Tan is my go-to photographer for every occasion !!
I've hired her to document my murals to the videographer for my book launch!
I just knew I had to hire her to capture the private view of Colour • Shape • Pattern.
My portraits from the night are phenomenal: she makes me feel at ease, knows my angles, and captures me beautifully. She documented everything from the paintings to the cabinet displays, overcoming the challenges of low light and glass
reflections with stunning results. Kezia also caught the energy of the crowd and the atmosphere of the evening perfectly.
I can’t recommend her highly enough and look forward to working with her on future events,
I genuinely wouldn't want to work with anyone else. She is wonderful"
