Interior Design Photography for Bold Designers
By an interior photographer working across Surrey, London, Suffolk and beyond.
As an interiror photographer, I work closely with interior designers to capture spaces in a way that feels considered, natural and true to the design intent.
This recent kitchen photography shoot in Halstead, Suffolk was for Natasha at NB Interiors and is a
great example of how thoughtful interiors translate beautifully through photography.

A Bold and Social Kitchen Design in Suffolk
This kitchen was designed for a client who wanted a fresh, modern look with a sense of boldness,
while still feeling welcoming and sociable. Natasha approached the design with both lifestyle and flow in mind,
creating a space that works just as well for entertaining as it does for everyday use.
A key feature of the design is the bespoke breakfast table, positioned at the end of the
kitchen just before it opens into the dining and living area.
With seating for two, it creates a relaxed place for guests to sit, chat and connect.
Helping the kitchen feel like a natural extension of the wider living space.
Colour, Texture, and Thoughtful Details
The cabinetry is finished in a striking yellow, bringing warmth and confidence to the room.
One of the most beautiful details is the circular wooden handle design, subtly set behind the cupboard fronts.
The natural wood softens the bold colout and adds texture and depth.

Integrated appliances, including a built in oven and dishwasher, keep the kitchen feeling clean,
seamless and minimal. Allowing the design details to stand out without visual clutter.

Above the breakfast table, two red pendant lights add contrast and character, tying into
the bold colour palette while remaining balanced within the overall design.

Open shelving provides space for stylking while staying practical, offering room for the books and everyday objects.
The results is a kitchen that feels simple, functional and bold without it being overwhelming.

Photographing Interiors in Natural Light
The shoot took place on a rainy day in Halstead, but the soft, diffused light and occasional sun light works beautifully for interior photography.
Overcast conditions often creates even lighting, allowing colours and textures to be captured accurately and naturally.

The homeowner was incredibly welciming, providing drinks and plenty of biscuits, which always helps with a relaxed atmosphere.
It was lovely to hear his chats with Natasha at how the space has worked out exactly for what he wanted.

Interior Photography for Designers and Creative Professionals
When photographing interiors, my approach focuses on:
Showing the layout and flow of the space
Highlighting materials, colour and craftmanship
Capturing how the room is used and experienced, not just how it looks
For this project, it was important to document the connection between the kitchen and the open living space,
as well as the balance between bold design choices and everyday practicality.
